Carvajal talks about La Liga overseas games: This is a tampering with the rules and we must promote fair competition

Hupu, October 21st, Real Madrid captain Carvajal made it clear that he opposed holding the La Liga match between Villarreal and Barcelona in Miami, USA. He believed that this was a clear tampering with the competition rules.

Carvajal made the above remarks in an interview with Teledeporte on Monday. "I think this is a clear tampering with the competition rules, which does not allow all La Liga teams to compete under the same conditions. I think our players themselves, the clubs and even La Liga itself must uphold the principle of fairness and should advocate fair competition, and I think this approach (holding La Liga in Miami) is unfair."

In this round of the league (including Alaves’ match against Valencia this Monday), players from all teams suspended the game within the first ten to fifteen seconds after the start of the game. The action was called by the Spanish players' union to protest the lack of transparency surrounding La Liga's overseas games in Miami, USA.

This Monday, the Spanish Football Players Association has proposed to La Liga to advance the collective agreement joint committee meeting from the originally scheduled 24th to the 22nd to discuss matters convened by La Liga regarding the change of match venue.
