World Sports: Barcelona has regarded Osimhen as the first choice center target to replace Lewandowski next summer
Hupu News on October 30 According to World Sports News, Barcelona has a candidate list of two forward signings because they are not prepared to renew the contract with Polish forward Lewandowski. Lewandowski is nearing the end of his contract with Barca and renewal talks have reportedly cooled in recent weeks as sporting director Deco weighs the club's options. The 37-year-old Poland international is said to have informed Barcelona that he wishes to stay at Barcelona, but his age and injury record mean this does not guarantee him a new contract. Accordingly, Turkish media reported that Fenerbahce plans to start pre-contract negotiations with Lewandowski in January, with a view to signing the forward on a free transfer next summer on a two-year contract. In addition, the experienced forward is said to have also received an invitation from Saudi Arabia, but if he leaves Barcelona, he would prefer to stay in European football or move to the American Major League. According to "World Sports News", if Lewandowski leaves the team, Osimhen will be Barcelona's first choice target. The Nigerian international has shined in both club and national team this season: scoring 6 goals in 9 appearances for Galatasaray, including a key goal against Liverpool in the Champions League last month; at the national team level, he scored a hat-trick against Benin, helping the team secure a place in the World Cup qualifying play-offs. After his impressive loan performance in the 2024-25 season, Osimhen officially joined Galatasaray this summer with a transfer fee of 75 million euros (£66 million) and signed a contract until 2029. Spanish media pointed out that the high valuation of the 26-year-old forward will put Barcelona under financial pressure, so the club will adopt a strategy occasionally used in past transfer negotiations: players are required to actively express their willingness to leave the team. According to other news, Barcelona’s alternative plan is Levante forward Ayon. The 22-year-old Cameroonian star has contributed 6 goals and 3 assists in 10 appearances in La Liga this season, including scoring the goal of Real Madrid, which has attracted the attention of many European clubs.
