Indiscriminate killing! Many former Premier League players joined the eighth-level league team, and Cisse scored six goals in his debut

On October 24, according to the "Sun" report, a number of former Premier League players have joined Wythenshawe Football Club in the eighth tier.

This list includes the 47-year-old former Liverpool and England international Heskey, the 40-year-old former Newcastle and Senegal captain Cisse, the 43-year-old former Manchester City and England international Lescott, and the 39-year-old former Manchester City midfielder Ai Ireland, 35-year-old former Everton striker Niasse, 40-year-old Scotland international Boyd, 38-year-old former Manchester City defender Onuoha, 42-year-old former Wigan defender Figueroa, and even 35-year-old Premier League champion Drinkwater.

The joining of this group of players stemmed from the friendship between a Wythenshawe player and Ireland. According to club chairman Karl Barratt, his friend mentioned to Ireland that the team wanted to compete in the National Cup, and Ireland and Onuoha were the first to join, and brought more former teammates through contacts. Barratt also broke the news that because his wife did not know these stars, she "accidentally" sent them a notice to pay a monthly team fee of 15 pounds. Of course, the club did not actually charge any fees and did not pay any salary. It only provided post-match food and a bar with Sky Sports.

Although the team is full of stars, the team is not an "All-Star 11". It only sends a maximum of five or six former professional players in each game to ensure that regular veteran players also have opportunities to play. Even so, this "dimension-reducing strike" team has achieved three consecutive victories in the Cheshire Senior League this season, including 10-1 and 7-1 victories. Cisse even scored six goals in his debut. Ireland scored eight goals in two games, and Lescott also scored a hat trick. Their opponents, such as Paul Burrow of the Collegiate Old Boys, bluntly felt "intimidated by the stars" and were excited to compete with Husky and Figueroa.
