Shams: To better control the future, Kumingga chose to sign a 1+1 instead of a 2+1 contract
October 1 According to famous reporter Shams, player agent revealed that Kumingga agreed to return to the Golden State Warriors with a two-year, $48.5 million contract, ending a summer deadlock! According to Warriors' team reporter Anthony Slater, in order to better control the future (and possibly sign a larger contract extension), Kumingga chose a 1+1 contract instead of 2+1 (75 million in 3 years), and he will be eligible for the transaction on January 15. Previously, the Warriors had made three offers for Kuminga, including $45 million for two years and $75.2 million for three years. Both offer included team options in the last year, and the only offer that did not include team options was $54 million for three years.
