SGA returns home with the championship trophy! Mayor gives city keys and will name the street after him

Thunder player Alexander returned to his hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, with the championship trophy. At a public rally at the city stadium, Alexander took the city key to Hamilton from Mayor Andrea Hovas. Hovas also announced that the 27-year-old basketball star will own a street named after him.

"In my growth, when I traveled around the world and visited countless states, cities and countries, people always asked me where I came from, and I am proud to tell everyone that I am from Hamilton," said Alexander. "Hamilton is different from any other city in Ontario. Hamiltonians have tenacity, determination, pride and vitality that people in other parts of the province are different. To be honest, I can't avoid this. I carry this trait every day, wherever I go, so you can imagine that when I learn to get the key to this city I love, there is one more thing to me. What an indescribable joy in my heart when I named the streets. "

"I wear sunglasses, so you can't see me actually crying, but this moment is really special," continued Alexander. "From childhood, I have stepped on this land in various ways, and being able to stand here in this way is of great significance to me. It's a perfect moment. Every time I come back to my hometown, I feel this way. Not many people know this city, but no matter where I am in the world, I feel the support here, which is special, and I have always been grateful for it."
