Ronnie Price, a small defender with poor shooting but excellent defense
Does anyone remember Ronnie Price? That little defender who shot badly but had a great defense. Ronnie Price, Ronnie Price, 6-foot-2 (188 cm), plays as a point guard (PG). He was born in Flandwood, a city in southeastern Texas, USA in June 1983. He was produced by Utah Valley University. He was defeated in the 2005 NBA Draft and signed with the Sacramento Kings to enter the NBA as a free agent. In his twelve seasons of NBA career, Ronnie Price has played for six teams, namely Kings (2005-2007), Jazz (2007-2011), Suns (2011-2012, 2015-2017), Trail Blazers (2012-2013), Magic (2013-2014), and Lakers (2014-2015). He played in a total of 544 games in the regular season, including 73 starts, averaging 13.4 minutes per game, scoring 3.7 points, 1.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.1 blocks. He played in a total of 28 games in the playoffs and failed to get a starting opportunity. He averaged 6.5 minutes per game, scoring 2.2 points, 0.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks. As a short guard, Ronnie Price has a positive defensive attitude, is good at using speed and fighting consciousness to put pressure on his opponents, can create interference in local defense, have basic organizational skills, can complete simple passes in conversion offenses, and can stay focused during limited playing time, and occasionally complete open shots at critical moments. However, Price's athletic talent is mediocre, and its speed and explosive power are in the middle and lower reaches among NBA guards. It has limited ability to break through and get rid of defense, weak offensive ability, poor shooting stability, especially the low outside shooting rate, lack of independent scoring methods, and is prone to making mistakes when dealing with the ball. The pass choice is not reasonable enough when facing high-pressure defense. Overall, Price is a role player with a single function and relies more on enthusiasm to gain a foothold in the team. The shortcomings in the offensive end limit his career height. Although Ronnie Price is an absolute little person, he also has some dazzling highlights. On January 11, 2015, local time in the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers at 94:106 at home, Ronnie Price started for 33 minutes, scored 8 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal, and sent out the highest 12 assists in a single game in the NBA career. Local time on December 23, 2015, in the Phoenix Suns lost to the Denver Nuggets at 96:104 at home, Ronnie Price played for 30 minutes on the bench, making 7 of 13 shots (including 6 of 9 three-pointers), scoring the highest single-game 20 points in a NBA career, plus 4 rebounds and 1 assist. On March 4, 2012, in the Phoenix Suns' away game against the Orlando Magic 102:84, Ronnie Price started for 45 minutes, scored 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block, and sent out the highest 5 steals in a single game in the NBA career. In 2017, Ronnie Price officially announced his retirement. After retiring, he did not leave basketball, but was invited to join the Phoenix Suns uniform group and become a scout.
