Perkins gives a strange reason why Timberwolves is not the NBA spokesperson

Kendrick Perkins did not designate Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards as his next NBA spokesperson, and his reasoning was strange.

For Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, the Western Conference Finals are ups and downs. He performed well in Game 3, but in Game 4, he scored only 16 points, and the Timberwolves lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The loss gave the Thunder a 3-1 lead in the series, meaning the Timberwolves will face elimination at Oklahoma City on Wednesday night.

Given Edwards' undeniable talent and charm, there has been a lot of discussion over the past year about whether he is the next "NBA screen."

Recently, ESPN's NBA insider Kendrick Perkins gave a puzzling reason why he thought Edwards could not be the next "NBA facade."

"You have to be a role model, right? Things off the field are important, too. Now, if you look at the list of all the facades in league history," Perkins said on the First Take show. "Look at Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, O'Neal, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, what do they have in common? They were all family men when they played in the league. They were all married and had children."

Perkins mentioned not all models of happy family life, although it is not clear why Perkins believes that these factors will affect the player's role as "a league appearance." It was a tough night for Edwards

After completely destroying the Oklahoma City Thunder's defense in Game 3, Anthony Edwards acted like an empty shell in Game 4, not taking the first move until a few minutes into the game, and it was not until late in the second half to put pressure on the Thunder's defense. The Timberwolves are now 1-3 behind, the same as last year's Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.

Timberwolves fans certainly hope that Game 5 of this year is better than last year, although it is no easy task to win a knockout game in Oklahoma City. The fifth game between the Timberwolves and the Thunder will be held at 8:30 PM EST on Wednesday, and will be broadcast nationwide by ESPN.
