Edie dangerous driving closes: Endorsed speeding fine $639.5, prosecutors drop misdemeanor charges

On July 24, according to the exclusive report of US media TMZ, Memphis Grizzlies star Zach Edie closed the case of dangerous driving, pleaded guilty to speeding violations and paid a $639.5 fine, and the prosecution dropped the misdemeanor dangerous driving charge against him.

According to previous reports, Zach Eddy was stopped by police on May 1 on Highway 25 in southern Tippercanu County, Indiana for speeding at 101 mph (162.5 km/h) on a section of road with a speed limit of 55 mph (88.5 km/h).

According to the investigation, Edie drove the vehicle northward and crossed with an Indiana policeman's patrol vehicle (driving southward) at 7:03 pm. The police then caught up with the speeding vehicle and stopped it. Edie told the police that he was speeding because he tried to overtake.

Now that Edie's dangerous driving case has been closed, he reached a plea and defense agreement with the prosecution in court. Edie admitted to speeding and agreed to pay a fine of $639.50. The prosecution revoked the misdemeanor dangerous driving charges that were originally filed against him.

2024-25 season, Edie played 66 games for the Grizzlies (55 starts) in the regular season, averaging 21.4 minutes per game, scoring 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. He was selected as the Rookie of the Year first team, helping the Grizzlies to the playoffs but was swept 4-0 by the Thunder in the first round.

This year's offseason, Edie was accidentally injured while training and underwent left ankle surgery and is expected to recuperate for at least 4 months.
