Zhekelais: Don t believe in the criticism you hear; choose to wear a mask after scoring the goal

Hupu September 21st Arsenal striker Victor Zhekelais accepted an exclusive interview with the British Sky Sports.

"No one cares who I am until I put on a mask."

This is a famous quote from Bane, the biggest villain in the latest Batman trilogy, and it is also the inspiration for Zhekelaysh's career in recent years.

Talking about whether that goal celebration changed his career?

"Yes, considering my situation at the time, this makes sense! Since I started doing this, my goals have started to increase. This also made me choose this way of celebration more often."

Zhekelais's journey to finally become the main player of the Arsenal forward was not smooth. He has traveled to several countries, including his homelands Sweden and Germany.

It was in his motherland that he encountered the first question - a U14 coach.

"I was very young when I first arrived in Sweden," he recalled. "We played a few games in the district and I didn't play well - he felt that I didn't seem to be bothered by the loss of that game.

He said I didn't have enough psychological quality to play football. This has been lingering in my heart and I still remember it freshly."

Even after transferring to Arsenal for £63.5 million, Dzekelash was criticized. Today, the 27-year-old is still criticized.

"The matches are very different. Some games are tough - I didn't play the level I wanted. It may depend on the actual situation of the game. But there are some games I feel good.

So things are up and down, but overall I scored some goals and we won most of the games. So it was a pretty good start, but it could be better."

Jekeraysh was criticized after only one game in which Arsenal beat Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, saying he touched his hair more times than he touched the ball. Six days later, when he scored twice against Leeds United, he responded to the criticism with a hair-shaking celebration, so would he listen to those criticisms?

"You have to be yourself, you have to adapt to the environment you play, you have to believe in yourself, whatever happens - on the court or off the court. I don't think you have to listen to everyone around you. You don't have to listen to everything you hear."

When asked if the scrutiny here is more severe than other stages of his career

"Yes, maybe? I had a lot of such people when I was playing in Portugal. People there were also people who were born for football.

Training every day, playing games, and of course the things that prepare you for the next game, the things that make you take care of your body. It's all that - of course, sometimes you have to try to relax."

As he said, he had to adapt to life in England - and be fast. Despite his experience playing for England, he gave up his entire life to join Arteta's side.

"When you move to another country, you change a lot," he said. "Everything is fast, the season will begin in a few weeks, and you still have to arrange everything around you.

When you make such a transfer, this is the biggest change, there is no specific change - it's just that everything happens all at once. It's normal, but you have to adapt."

At the end of the interview, he talked about his expectations for Manchester City.

"There are many strong teams in the Premier League, and you have to perform well in such games. We look forward to these games, and we are eager to win."
