In the 81st minute, Villarreal's new player Thomas came on the bench, and some of the fans at the scene gave applause and some booed.

Thomas is 32 years old and joins Villarreal in the summer window. The player has been granted conditional bail after being charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. Thomas' attorney previously said he "denied all allegations against him" and added that he welcomed "the opportunity to finally clarify his reputation."
