Thames: Guy will reject all renewal offers from Crystal Palace and plans to leave the team freely next summer

September 2 Times reported that Mark Guy will reject any new contracts provided by Crystal Palace and plans to leave the team as freely after the contract expires next summer.

The 25-year-old England central defender was disappointed with the failure to transfer to Liverpool, although he had begun a medical examination after the club received a £35 million offer. Guy originally reached a five-year contract with the Premier League champions and has been waiting for Liverpool's London office in the final stage of the transfer deadline. Now he can sign a preparatory contract with overseas clubs in January next year, or wait until next summer before completing the potential transfer to Anfield.

Crystal Palace's decision to keep Gee was due to a heated discussion between coach Oliver Glasner and club chairman Steve Parish. Parrish said last month that "the player's free departure is by no means an ideal situation." Crystal Palace rejected Newcastle United last summer and Tottenham Hotspur’s offer for Guy more than £65 million in January.

There are concerns that Glasner may resign if the captain is sold without signing a suitable replacement. The 51-year-old Austrian coach's contract expires at the end of the season, and the possibility of renewal has gradually decreased this summer.

Glasner has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the club's slow progress in recruiting in the transfer window, especially because he needs a larger lineup to meet the needs of the European League. The dilemma he faces further intensified after learning that two key players, Adam Walton and Ismaila Sal, will be out of the game due to injury.
