August 3rd News Swedish Minister of Development Cooperation talked about the sponsorship of the Barcelona club in a Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This week, Barcelona officially announced a four-year sponsorship agreement with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Marca said that the total transfer fee was 40 million euros, 10 million yuan per year. This sponsorship can improve the financial situation of the Barcelona club. Meanwhile, between 2021 and 2025, the Swedish government has been providing substantial financial assistance to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, totaling 3.34 billion Swedish kroner (about 300 million euros), and some people questioned that Sweden is indirectly helping the Democratic Republic of the Congo sponsor Barcelona.

In response, Swedish Minister of Development Cooperation Benjamin Dusa responded that Swedish taxpayers' money will not be used to fund the Democratic Republic of the Congo to sponsor the Barcelona club. In fact, Sweden's aid funds provided by Sweden to the Democratic Republic of the Congo are used for food packages, vaccine syringes, textbooks, etc., which are usually carried out through the United Nations organization.
