Effenberg: It is right for Walter Mad not to come to Bayern this year, he has no chance at Bayern

Hupu, August 17th, the Super Cup battle between Stuttgart and Bayern Munich was not just a championship, but many people were paying close attention to Nick Waltermad. The Stuttgart striker has actually reached an agreement with Bayern Munich and plans to transfer this summer - but Stuttgart officials are still rejecting the idea.

Apparently, Waltermad himself was disappointed, but in Stefan Effenberg's view, the Stuttgart striker had no need to worry about it. “It’s absolutely nothing wrong to postpone this decision for a year,” the 57-year-old legend said on the “Sport1Doppelpass” show.

Effenberg is considering Waltermad's chance to play for the German national team at the upcoming World Cup in the summer of 2026. If he transfers to Bayern Munich, the opportunity could get worse as Walter Mad will have to compete with superstar Harry Kane for playing time.

"If Bayern Munich has a well-rounded offensive lineup and everyone is healthy, what room does Waltermad have? I can't see it," Effenberg explained. "For his development and the goal he planned, that is, next year's World Cup, it's more reasonable to stay in Stuttgart."

Effenberg believes that Waltermad is unlikely to replace Kane as the starter of Bayern Munich now. Effenberg believes that patience is not a bad thing: "Nothing will change. He has ten years left, which means two or three contracts."
