The day was the third day of the rock climbing event of this World Games. After the early competitions, the athletes became more familiar with the stadium and showed a better competitive state. In the women's competition, the Chinese group Deng Lijuan/Zhou Yafei set world records three consecutive times that day. In the 1/8 final, Deng Lijuan/Zhou Yafei set a new world record and successfully advanced with a time of 13.64. A few minutes later, in the quarter-finals, they once again broke the world record set by 13.56 seconds. In the semi-finals that followed, their condition was even more unstoppable, and they set the world record at 13.28 seconds and successfully advanced to the finals. In the end, they defeated another Chinese pair Qin Yumei/Zhang Shaoqin in the final and won the championship.

In the men's group competition, Long Jianguo and Chu Shouhong also passed the championship in a good state and successfully won the gold medal. During this process, they broke the previous world record with a time of 10.11 seconds in the men's speed relay quarter-finals.
