Eddie Howe: I know I am winless in 19 games against Manchester City, Newcastle showed bravery today

Hupu, November 23 News: Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe accepted a live interview with BBC Radio after the 2-1 victory over Manchester City.

Talking about his record against Manchester City as head coach

"19 games without a win, that doesn't sound good. I'm very aware of my record against Manchester City, and to be honest, I'm not proud of it. It's really, really difficult to find a way to beat them."

Talking about Manchester City

"Even today's game, the score was very close. In the Premier League, the outcome of the game against Manchester City is often only a matter of millimeters, but we finally won today. I think the performance of the players was very good, they were full of energy, high spirit and bravery. I am very satisfied with our performance."

When talking about how to break the winless record against Manchester City, Howe said:

"Mindset and attitude are key. We got back the energy that was missing against Brentford and West Ham United before. Our running ability and strength are back. Our technical ability is also back, which was not always the case before.

We played very bravely. We tried to be proactive and sometimes it worked, but sometimes they punished us for it, so it was always a tough game against them, and Nick (Pope) made some great saves at critical moments, and we scored at critical moments.”
