Mourinho negotiated with Fenerbahce Chairman Ali Kochi in London on the conditions for early termination. The Portuguese coach made it clear that he would not accept leaving without receiving an annual salary of €15 million. The former Real Madrid and Chelsea coach will not make concessions. Prior to this, his assistants had left the company and received nearly €5 million in compensation. This decision was seen as a direct message to Mourinho: "We don't want to work with you."

From the Istanbulian side, Fenerbahce management is trying to reach an economic agreement that is more conducive to them to end the contractual relationship. However, the meeting in London did not go as smoothly as expected and the two sides still did not reach a satisfactory agreement. Meanwhile, the club has begun to consider alternatives after Mourinho leaves office.

Ismail Kartar, former team coach and currently coaching Iran's Persepolis team, is the main candidate. Besiktas legend Sergen Yarchin, who played briefly for Fenerbahce in 1999, and former Dortmund coach Edin Teerzić, who was recently spotted in Istanbul. Terzić has previously worked as an assistant coach in Besiktas and has experience in the Turkish Premier League.
