Accused of spitting at fans! Post: FA investigating Burnley midfielder Hannibal
October 20th According to the "Daily Mail" report, the Football Association has begun an investigation into allegations of misconduct against Burnley midfielder Hannibal. He was accused of spitting at visiting fans during last week's 2-0 home victory over Leeds United. Lancashire Police also confirmed last weekend that they are working with Burnley Club on this matter to ascertain the facts. Hannibal came on as a substitute in the 83rd minute of the game and received a yellow card in stoppage time. This is not the first time Hannibal has had friction with Leeds United fans. Reports pointed out that in the British Championship last season, when he was substituted at Elland Road, he raised his arms in the air and acted in a manner that seemed to provoke the opponent's fans. It is reported that the FA's investigation is currently in the "preliminary stage", but the official refused to comment on this. Burnley also declined to comment.
