US media reveals: Warriors cannot provide a big contract to retain Kuminga
On May 16, with the NBA Warriors' Western Conference semi-finals 1-4, the issue of staying and leaving the Warriors' young power forward Kumingga once again became the focus. The American media unanimously agreed that the Warriors management could not retain Cumingga at all. On the one hand, the Warriors could not meet the terms of its contract extension; on the other hand, the Warriors coach Cole did not trust and reuse Cumingga at all. If Stephen Curry had not been injured accidentally, the latter would have been hidden in the series against the Timberwolves. Yesterday, the second round of the playoff series, the G5 Warriors defeated the Timberwolves 110-121 at home. Kumingga played for 32 minutes on the bench, made 11 of 23 shots, 3 of 9 three-pointers, 1 of 3 free throws, scored 26 points + 3 rebounds + 2 steals, the team's second highest score, and Butler continued to be poor like the previous game again and only scored 17 points. The American media believes that in the second round of Stephen Curry's injury, Kumingga averaged 24.5 points per game, the team scored first, shooting percentage of 55.0% and three-point shooting percentage of 41.4%, but only ranked fifth in the team in playing time per game. Although Kumingga has flaws on the defensive end, she still has room for improvement after all. The Timberwolves Randall and Knicks Towns are the best proof. They were always questioned in their defensive ends when they were young, and both of them performed well in both offense and defense this season. Kuminga's rookie contract will expire with the Warriors in the summer. The Warriors can only provide him with a one-year, $7.9 million qualification offer, making him a restricted trading player. According to the Warriors reporters previously revealed that Kuminga and his agent would renew the contract terms at all. Perhaps in the end, the Warriors will adopt a sign-on and then exchange transaction method to let Kuminga leave the team, otherwise he will lose his basketball and lose his game in vain.
