Stone: When we consider signing, the career timeline and age of potential goals remain important

May 7th Rockets general manager Stone was asked about potential trades at a press conference at the end of the season.

The outside world believes that the Rockets may chase superstars like Durant and Antetokounmpo, and both of them seem to be ready to end their relationship with their existing team. Durant will turn 37 years old the year before entering his 19th NBA season; Antetokounmpo, 30, is about to enter his 13th season. Stone said that the timeline and age of the potential target’s career is still important to the Rockets when considering bringing in players, but added, “What’s more important is how great you are and what you can bring. But we do want to be very competitive as long as possible.

“I mean, we are doing work related to people, people are unpredictable.” If we trade a player before we assume that he will perform the same on our team as before, that's not always the case. So, you know, you have to make the best choice you can make. But I would say that our top plan has been to develop our existing roster of players and hopefully we can become strong enough with them. Everyone has made progress in this regard, we are very satisfied with this level of progress, and I am very happy with this level of progress. ” said Stone.
