Dwight Howard ranks Jordan, James and Kobe in a unique way
According to F/W contributor Gautam Varyl, Hall of Famer Howard was asked to rank Jordan, James and Kobe in the latest episode of "Above The Rim". After careful consideration, Howard decided not to rank the three in the traditional way, but announced that they were the best in different categories. “Of course of these three, I believe Kobe is the best in scoring,” Howard said. "... Win, Michael. Longevity, the entire basketball player, LeBron." Howard was then urged to rank them, but he said that was his ranking. The 39-year-old praised them for being unique. However, he made some interesting choices here. Howard believes Kobe is the best scorer of the three, and he is undoubtedly an excellent player. He has won two scoring titles in his career and averaged 25 points in 20 seasons. Kobe averaged a ridiculous 35.4 points per game in the 2005-06 season, and not many people could score like him. In other words, Jordan can certainly say that he is a better scorer. First, he won a record 10 scoring title in his career. Jordan averaged 30.1 points per game in the regular season and 33.4 points per game in the playoffs. These two figures are also NBA records. Jordan's best scored season was in the 1986-87 season, when he averaged 37.1 points per game. It was the fifth highest average in a single season, with only Wilt Chamberlain surpassing that. So, of course you can prove that Jordan is the best scorer of the three. As for winning, well, he won more than the other two too. Jordan won six championships in his NBA career, while Kobe won five. James currently has four titles, but can still increase his total. In a few months he will enter his 23rd season in the NBA and remains a force on the court. James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1 steal per game for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024-25 season. This performance in season 22 is ridiculous. Only one player has played in the 22nd season, and that is Carter. Carter averaged only 5 points that season. In terms of longevity, no one in NBA history can compare to James. By comparison, Jordan played only 15 seasons, while Kobe left after 20 seasons. James has good arguments to be considered the most complete player ever, and he can hold on for a few more years. James' achievements make him the closest challenger to Jordan, who is still widely regarded as a GOAT. However, none of them were the title Howard chose because he chose Jabbar. Howard played with James and Kobe in his career. So, not many people are more qualified to talk about them, and he was once asked to share the difference between James and Kobe. "Bryant is a bastard. Not that he is a bastard to me. I just say, like his personality, he is a bastard. He disdained. James, he hopes everyone likes him. He wants to joke, laugh, have fun. I just think they are happy beans. Although James and Kobe's methods are different, they succeed, which shows that there is more than one way to succeed. However, the former method may be more suitable for today's times. Are you acknowledging Howard's unique ranking method?
