World Sports: Barcelona is expected to face Paris at Camp Nou, with Montwhic Stadium as an alternative

September 2nd News, Barcelona is racing against time to strive for the Camp Nou to reopen as soon as possible.

Barca is facing a tense moment, hoping to obtain a Certificate of Camp Nou's stadium engineering within this week and receive a technical report on the stadium early next week, which will evaluate the safety, access, signage and emergency systems of Camp Nou's stadium. Only by obtaining this report can you apply for a stadium use license.

On Monday, Barcelona held a meeting with Barcelona city representatives, fire departments and the city guard to discuss the latest developments in the Camp Nou Stadium project. If the Camp Nou Stadium cannot be reopened on time, the La Liga match scheduled for home against Valencia on September 14 will be held at the John Cruyff Stadium.

Despite the tight time, Barcelona still believes that part of the stands of the Camp Nou Stadium can be used, and the club's goal is to allow 27,000 spectators to enter the game, including the South Stand in the first phase of the plan.

Municipal officials said that some technical adjustments are still needed to be made in Camp Nou, such as adjustments to signs, emergency exits and service areas, but Barcelona believes that all problems can be resolved in a timely manner. At Monday's meeting, the parties also discussed a backup plan, which is to temporarily play at the John Cruyff Stadium, and La Liga has approved the option despite its small capacity (about 6,000 seats).

In addition, according to the relevant agreement, Barcelona can use the Montwhic Stadium if necessary until February 2026. However, since there is a concert arrangement for the stadium on September 12, the venue cannot be used for La Liga matches against Valencia.

At the same time, UEFA requires the Camp Nou Stadium to open a television broadcast area to host the Champions League. Barcelona won the time by requesting to go first and then go home in the Champions League phase, and the match against Paris Saint-Germain is expected to be held at the Camp Nou on October 1. However, if the Camp Nou Stadium TV broadcast area cannot be opened within a month, the Champions League game may need to be played at Montwhich Stadium.

Anyway, Barcelona is racing against time, striving to solve all the problems in the next few days so they can return to home on time.
