Van Dijk: It feels incredible to win any honor with Liverpool

Hupu, August 9th, Van Dijk and Salah jointly accepted a joint interview with Liverpool.

Van Dijk and Salah have been teammates at Anfield for nearly eight years. Last season, they still played a core role at both ends of the court, helping Liverpool, whom Slot coached, win the Premier League championship.

The two renewed their contracts with the club in the same week in April this year. They have created rich honors at the individual and team levels, but at the beginning of the 2025-26 season, their desire to win remains the same.

Van Dijk said in a joint long-term interview: "When you enter the new season, your goal is to compete for every championship trophy you participate in. I think it is the most basic requirement for a club like Liverpool. Obviously, it will be very difficult, but we have experienced very difficult times before, and I am very looking forward to every moment of the season.

"We are all together, and this is what we should be." The players, coaching staff, and our fans, we must join in and support each other, whether in good times or bad times. "The captain continued: "It would be incredible to win any honor with Liverpool. We celebrated the championship together last year, the feeling of being crowned as champion against Tottenham…they called it dopamine, it was so wonderful.

"For me personally, that's what it means to play. You want to leave a legend, be remembered, and inspire the next generation in everything you do. It's very special to us in a club where legends will be remembered, respected and warmly welcomed back. Fortunately we were part of that period, and we are still part of the club and still want to continue to succeed.

"It's really special, it's a feeling that I didn't dare to dream when I was a kid. This is also the beauty of football and the beauty of life: keep moving forward, staying stable, never giving up, and enjoy the whole journey ahead. ”
