TA: Chelsea will evaluate Petrovic s future, Pais will rent out

June 11 TheAthletic reported that Chelsea will evaluate the future of goalkeeper Petrovic, while Pes will be loaned out.

Petrovic lost to Chelsea's Club World Cup roster, and Pais was not called up for being loaned to Strasbourg.

Pace, who reached a transfer agreement from the Independent team at the age of 16 in 2023, is now qualified to officially join Chelsea. But the young player is not on the list because he will be leased to Strasbourg, which is both part of the BlueCo Group as well as Chelsea.

Although Chelsea gave up the introduction of AC Milan goalkeeper Meinion before the first transfer window of the summer, Petrovic missed the Club World Cup. The Serbian national goalkeeper performed well during the loan period on Strasbourg in 2024-25, but the Blues finally chose to bring Robert Sanchez, Jorgensen and new player Mike Penders who joined from Henk a year ago.

Chelsea will continue to evaluate the goalkeeper configuration, and Petrovic will participate in the team's pre-July training camp. But sources told TheAthletic that several European clubs have an interest in it, that he and Sanchez may leave the team, and that the Blues will not be equipped with four goalkeepers in the new season.

Andre Santos, who also loaned Strasbourg last season, was selected for Maresca's roster, but loan players such as Felix, Sterling, DiSassi and Chilville were not called up.

Nkunku is still on the list despite its uncertain future, while Amuku, who joined from Saint-Etienne in January, was out of the election for expected out-of-lease loan.

As TheAthletic reported earlier on Tuesday, Chelsea does not want to bring too many fringe people to the competition, and hopes to compete in the Club World Cup with its main lineup, and the club regards it as a continuation of last season.

New players Drapp, Essugo and Mamadu Sal will go out with the team.
