Real Madrid star forced to leave due to Trent Alexander Arnold s arrival
A report shows that due to the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Real Madrid's backbone Lucas Vazquez will leave the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium this summer. The Liverpool defender announced his decision to leave the boys' club on Monday, and he was destined to join Real Madrid on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of June. The Spanish giants are even interested in acquiring him ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. For some time, it has been believed that Alexander Arnold has gone to Real Madrid, and the England international has not followed in the footsteps of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Deck to sign a new contract with the Premier League champion. Real Madrid have long been seeking defensive reinforcement after a season plagued by injuries, and Real Madrid reportedly are keen to sign Alexander Arnold in January after Danny Carvajal suffered an ACL injury at the end of the season in October. Alexander Arnold and Carvajal will compete for playing time in the Spanish capital next season, but long-time Real Madrid player and youth training graduate Vasquez will not join them. This is according to Spanish media AS, who revealed that Vazquez will leave Madrid when the contract expires this summer. The 33-year-old signed a one-year contract extension last year and has been a useful presence this season in Kavajal’s absence, but it looks like he will be leaving soon. Vazquez worked with the 16-year-old Madrid youth training camp in 2007 and has since made 397 appearances for the adult team. He began his career as a winger and has been portrayed as a right-back in recent years. But Alexander Arnold's arrival ensures that the Real Madrid hero has now met the demand and will leave for free when his current contract expires in late June.
