Official: Philippine international Holtman leaves after his contract with Bochum expires at the end of June

On May 21, Bochum officially announced that 30-year-old Philippine striker Holtman will leave the team freely after his contract expires at the end of June.

On Tuesday local time, Bochum Club issued an announcement on its official website stating: "Haltman's contract will expire on June 30, 2025. He will not extend the contract and will leave Bochum Club. The 30-year-old striker is looking for new challenges." Bochum ranked last in the Bundesliga standings this season and was down to the Bundesliga second.

Holtmann joined Bochum, who was still in the Bundesliga in the summer of 2020, and helped Bochum advance to the Bundesliga as the main striker. So far, Holtman has made 115 appearances for Bochum, scoring 13 goals and assisting 16 times. Holtman starts to compete for the Philippines national team in 2022.

Bochum Sports Director Dufner said: "We wanted to continue working with Holtman, who recognized the Bochum Club and the people here. We had a pleasant and grateful exchange and finally he told us that he had decided to accept different challenges. We wish Holtman all the best in his personal life and sports in the future."

Bochum Sport Director said: "I want to thank the Bochum management and Bochum fans for allowing me to have a great time in this extraordinary club. Everyone has seen the performance of the Bochum family, especially in the weeks after the painful relegation, and our reaction was not taken for granted. Nevertheless, I decided to accept the new challenge. I wish the Bochum Club and all the fans all the way, and pray that the club will return to their Bundesliga again as soon as possible! Bochum will always be a part of my heart."
