Manchester United plans to loan 19-year-old forward Whitley and 21-year-old goalkeeper Witker this summer

19-year-old forward Whitley and 21-year-old goalkeeper Witke are considered to have surpassed the level of youth training camp football, but they are not included in Manchester United's US roster. To further develop their careers, the two need to gain stable playing time. Last season, Whitley was loaned to Walsall, but he only played four games for the English League Two club, and eventually he returned to Manchester United to play for the club U21. Manchester United youth training camp staff have high hopes for Whitley, who renewed his contract with the club for three years in March this year, with a one-year renewal option. This summer, Whitley represented England in the U19 European Youth Championship, and he scored two goals in two starts and performed well. Although goalkeeper Wittke has not played for Manchester United's first team, his loan experience with Austrian team Linz Blue and White was very successful last season, and he started almost every league game. Wittke's contract expires in the summer of 2027 and he is expected to continue to be rented for exercise.
