Former Gunner Forward sentenced to 4 years in prison for drug trafficking

Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Thomas was sentenced to four years in prison by the Chelmsford Criminal Court in the UK for planning the smuggling of marijuana. Thomas, 34, was born in the Gunners' youth training, but his career has been in non-top league teams such as the Championship and the League One. He was charged last year with having his girlfriend and another woman smuggled into Stansted Airport in the UK with 600,000 pounds worth of 60 kilograms of marijuana (cost 250,000) from Thailand, with Thomas pleaded guilty last month. He participated in the case and received only £5,000. The judge condemned Thomas for his own destruction of his future: "You have changed from a professional player to a criminal, which means serious depravity, and the only career path you know is over."
