First in team history! Official: Salah was elected FWA Footballer of the Year for the third time

Official Premier League news, Salah won the FWA (English Football Association) Footballer of the Year, with a vote rate of up to 90%. This is the third time Salah has won the award after 2018 and 2022, becoming the first player in Liverpool’s history to do so.

FWA Footballer of the Year, is the oldest and most prestigious individual award in the English football world. In this selection, a total of 918 members of the Football Journalists Association participated, and Salah won 90% of the votes, setting a record for this century. Behind Salah, Van Dijk ranked second, Isaac and Rice ranked third and fourth, and 15 other players won the votes. In the 2024-25 season, Salah played 49 games for Liverpool, scoring 33 goals and sending 23 assists. Among them, Salah contributed 28 goals and 18 assists in 35 games, and led the scorer list and assists list with a great advantage, which is the biggest contributor to Liverpool's winning of the Premier League championship this season. At the age of 32, Salah played the most efficient season in his career and renewed his contract for two years again.

In the history of the FWA Footballer of the Year, Arsenal legend Henry has won three awards and ranked first. Previously, Salah won the award in 2018 and 2022.
