2025 Golden Globes Club nomination announced, Chelsea strives for double championship honor

On August 7, the list of nominations for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards Club of the Year Awards was officially announced. Chelsea is expected to be the second team in history to win this honor twice in the men's club awards.

A total of five clubs were nominated for the Best Men's Club of the Year 2025. Defending champion Real Madrid has failed to make the shortlist due to his performance this season. Its La Liga rival Barcelona has become a strong contender for this award with its strong performance in winning the league championship. Barcelona has never won the award since the award was established in 2021.

Liverpool, who also has not been involved in the award, was also nominated. After dominating the Premier League under coach Arne Slott, the Reds are looking forward to winning the trophy. New European Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain is also included in the nomination list.

Chelsea took the nomination and they beat Paris Saint-Germain to win the championship in this summer's club World Cup final. The Blues won the first honor of the award in 2021 and are now expected to become the second team to win twice after Manchester City (winning the awards in 2022 and 2023). The 2024 South American Liberators Cup champion and Brazilian giant Bottafogo occupied the last seat on the men's nomination list.

Chelsea and Barcelona were also nominated for the best of the year in terms of women's club awards. They will compete with the Women's Champions League champions Arsenal, as well as Lyon and Orlando Honor.
